Rob van Aalst

Rob started his career 15 years ago, when he was recruited by Philips Electronics to lead a 4-day Management Simulation. Since then, the focus of his work has been in the quality improvement area, with an emphasis on developing the performance of teams and minimizing errors. Within Kiron, Rob focuses on systems thinking and design. He is specialised in the design and application of simulation games. These games have proven to be a powerful tool for organizational change and improvement.

Rob holds a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from the TU/e; the University of Technology in Eindhoven, The Netherlands (home of Philips Electronics and PSV soccer), and published on several management topics.

Rob has worked in a variety of profit and not-for-profit organizations in the Netherlands. Some examples of his work experience include a "partner-in-charge" role at KZA, a leading consultancy in improving software quality in the Netherlands; consulting and training (sales, negotiation, and communication skills) at Philips Electronics; advisor to the board of The Slokker Group, a global real estate development and construction firm, based in The Netherlands, and various other initiatives in strategic innovation and change. He also speaks Dutch, German and conversational French.

Out of work, he especially enjoys the outdoors with his wife, a doctor at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, and their 2 year old daughter.
